Mary Jane Shockley
Thurmont—Mary Jane Shockley, 67, of Thurmont and formerly of Salisbury, died on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at her home after a long battle with cancer. Born in Lexington, NC on September 6, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Michael and Kathleen Betts.
Mary Jane will be remembered for her love of her gardens and dedication to her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son; Carlton E. "Squeaky" Weikel and two brothers; Ricky and Richard Michael.
She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years; Paul Shockley of Thurmont, two children; Karen Weikel-Sell and her husband Richard of Salisbury and Gary R. Weikel of Eden, five grandchildren; Steven, Leah, Brook, Carli-Jo, and Ricky III, two great-grandchildren; EJ and Aiden and four sisters; Louise, Shirley, Sally and Judy.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Shining Star Baptist Church, 709 Baker Street, Salisbury, MD 21804. Rev. Pastor Wade J. Chambers will officiate.
