SALISBURY — William Michael "Mike" Brittingham, 30, of Salisbury died Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, due to injuries from a vehicle accident.
Born in Salisbury, he was a son of Michael Brittingham and his wife, Audrey and Susan P. Long and her husband, Jerry.
Mike loved his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was employed by Austin Cox Home Services, where he worked as a journeyman plumber. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fruitland.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Melissa Brittingham, who he spent the past 10 years with; four children, Maia, Michael Jaden, Kamryn and William Michael Brittingham II; a brother, Lee Smith; five sisters, Patricia Brittingham, Christina Shrieves, Dawn Basile, Ellen Melvin and Suzanne Teter; maternal grandparents, Bill and Blanche Williams; an uncle and aunt, Wayne and Alice Williams; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Vernon and Arlene Brittingham.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury. The Rev. Dow Wood will officiate. Interment will follow in Springhill Memory Gardens. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions for his children may be made to the William Brittingham Memorial Trust, Farmers Bank of Willards, 1150 Parsons Road, Salisbury, Md. 21801 in Mike's memory.
