Michael George Clark

MARDELA SPRINGS —Mike Clark, 55, of Mardela Springs died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in New York on March 16, 1957, he was the son of the late Ralph and Margaret Kelm Clark.

Following high school, Mike served in the U.S. Navy. He was the owner/operator of Hang-Rite Paper and Painting Co. for 10 years. Mike was a member of American Legion Post 237 and the Vietnam Veterans Association. He enjoyed coaching softball and soccer for the Mardela Parks and Recreation, playing darts, drinking beer and assembling model wooden ships.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Peter Clark; an uncle, Richard Erschen; and his parents-in-law, Vaughn and Barbara Carey.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Clark of Mardela Springs; one daughter, Christina Cannon and her husband, Tommy, of Salisbury; stepgrandson, Austin Cannon; "adopted" son, Doug Merrill; two brothers, Russel Clark and his wife, Sandy, and Chris Clark and his wife, Carol; an uncle, Edward Clark and his wife, June; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Cooper and Lisa Merrill; a brother-in-law, Vaughn Carey Jr. and his wife, Stephanie; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by special friends David Cooper, Cliff Wirt and Joe Rhodes.

A funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial, with military honors will be held in the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to American Legion Post 237 or Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
