Ronald Louis Bratten, Sr.

SALISBURY-Ronald Louis Bratten, Sr., was called home to be with the Lord to an eternal rest on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. He was the last born son of eight children to the late Rossie and Sarah Hill Bratten on July 22, 1944, in Suffolk County, East Patchogue, and Long Island New York. The family relocated to Snow Hill and then to Salisbury where he attended the public schools in Wicomico County, Maryland and graduated with the Class of 1963, from Salisbury High School.

Ronnie retired as a delivery driver from Cloverland Diary and was brief employment with the Board of Education until his disability.

Deacon Bratten has a humble spirit and touched and inspired many lives. He leaves to cherish his fond memories to a devoted loving wife, Phyllis G. Bratten; a son, Ronald L. Bratten, Jr. (Linda); a daughter Renee Pedro (Kenny); ten grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia Rider (Alan) and Doris Bratten of Salisbury; four brothers, Rossie A. Bratten (Cathy), of Salisbury, Alver Bratten (Vernell) of Wilmington, Del., Linwood Bratten (Mamie), Edward Bratten and a hosts of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, great-grandchildren and dear friends.

Deacon Bratten was preceded in death by his parents Rossie and Sarah Hill Bratten; a brother James Edward Bratten; his last born son Kevin L. Bratten, Sr. on July 23, 2013, and his first grandson Christopher Ryan Bratten on Sept. 21, 2010.

A viewing will be held Friday at Mt. Enoch Holy Church from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday also at the church at 11 a.m.

All services are entrusted to Bennie Smith Funeral Home.
