BERLIN — Samuel Stewart Bromley Sr., 78, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late George Rexford Bromley and Mabel Brimer Bromley.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kay Parsons Bromley, and son, S. Stewart Bromley Jr., and his wife, Sharon, of Savannah, Ga., and daughter, Beverly Bromley Meadows, and her husband, John, of Ocean Pines. There are four grandchildren, Sara and Sam Bromley and Emily and Laura Meadows. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Megan Meadows. Also surviving is a brother George "Buzz" Bromley, and his wife, Shirley, of Florida; and sisters, Janet Shockley and her husband, Harold, of Salisbury and Nancy Hayden of Pennsylvania. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Frances Bromley. He leaves behind his devoted neighbors, Allen Mumford and John Holloway and their families.
Mr. Bromley had been the owner and operator of Berlin Ag Supply Fertilizer Business. He attended the Community Church of Ocean Pines. He was a proud member of the Berlin Volunteer Fire Company for 38 years and a member of the Berlin Lions Club and also football coach for the Berlin Little League. He was a golfing and gardening enthusiast and loved tending to his lawn.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 2 p.m. at the Community Church at Ocean Pines. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Bill Sterling will officiate. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. A donation in his memory may be made to the Berlin Volunteer Fire Company, 214 North Main St., Berlin, Md. 21811.
