William G. "Bill" Dillon

Ocean Pines-William G. "Bill" Dillon, age 93, of Ocean Pines and formerly of Rockville, MD died Friday, August 2, 2013 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin. He was born in New York City and was the son of the late William G. and Josephine (Casey) Dillon. He attended St. Bonaventure University in Olean, NY graduating in 1948. His time in college was interrupted by service in the US Army where he served in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany during World War II.

Bill retired after more than 30 years of service with the federal government. The majority of his career was spent with the GSA Federal Protective Service, and he also did many years of criminal investigative work with the Army, the Air Force and the State Department. He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 166 in Ocean City, the Ocean Pines Power Squadron and the Ocean Pines Anglers Club. He was also a member and past president of the Ocean Pines Kiwanis Club.

Bill is survived by his wife, Margaret "Pat" Dillon of Ocean Pines; one daughter, Patricia M. Dillon (Sandy) of Beltsville, MD; four sons, William G. Dillon Jr. (Ilene) and Gerard E. Dillon (Sherry) both of Mt. Airy, MD, Joseph V. Dillon (Barbara) of Frederick, MD and Thomas M. Dillon (Katie) of Virginia Beach, VA; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, August 10 at 11 am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church on Beauchamp Road near Ocean Pines with Father Jim Downs officiating and where friends may call one hour before the mass. Burial will be on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 11 am at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery Eastern Shore, Hurlock, MD.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Joseph House, Little Sisters of Jesus and Mary, P.O. Box 1755, Salisbury, MD 21802 or Most Blessed Sacrament School, 11242 Racetrack Road, Berlin, MD 21811.
