SALISBURY — William "Bill" T. Hensley, 75, of Salisbury died Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. Born in St. Clair, Mich., he was the son of the late William T. Hensley and Eileen Martin Hensley.
After serving in the U.S. Navy, Bill worked at Dresser-Wayne for over 30 years until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church in Oriole, member of Wicomico 91 Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and was very active in the Wheels that Heal Car Club. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time on the beach and water, fishing, crabbing and clamming.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susan W. Hensley; daughter, Donna Savage and her husband, PJ, of Millsboro; granddaughter, Megan Savage; a sister, Betty DeFoe; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roland G. Hensley; and a sister, Judy Wells.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at St. Peter's United Methodist Church in Oriole, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Revs. Sally Stewart and William Kniceley will officiate.
