Howard Raley Obituary
Howard Leo Raley

Delmar-Howard Leo Raley, 78, of Delmar passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Lofland Park Center in Seaford. He was born on May 19, 1935, in Baltimore, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Raley.

Howard's faith fueled an enthusiastic, positive energy. His greatest joy was sharing with people the difference that Jesus had made in his life. He carried that message to far-flung places like Haiti and Cuba, to local jails, to meetings of businessmen, to customers and friends and — especially near the end — to those around him in the nursing home and hospital.

For many years Howard worked as a CPA. In the 1980s he partnered with his brother Joe to operate a mobile home business, and most recently he had his own tax preparation business.

He is survived by his loving wife, Louise E. Raley; a son, Thomas Allison of California; six stepchildren, Katherine, Martin, David, Kenneth, Timothy and Joseph Hales; two brothers, Joseph Raley Jr. of Delmar and Thomas J. Raley of Baltimore; three sisters, Jane Muvaney, of Florida, Patricia Ciurca of Willards and Donna Woods of Baltimore; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by four sisters, Evelyn Bell, Betty Doty, Harriett Soltiasak and Rita Spurrier.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m., at Community Christian Church, 6400 Culver Rd. (just off Nanticoke Rd.), Salisbury.
