Salisbury-Mary Ellis Bradford, 96, of Salisbury, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Salisbury Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born near Powellville, she was the daughter of the late John Herman Ellis and Della Littleton Ellis.
She had previously worked as a cafeteria worker for the Wicomico County Board of Education and was a "nanny" in the 1960's. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church since 1947.
One of her favorite quotes was, "Prayer is the key to Heaven, but Faith unlocks the door". Scripture records, "Thy faith hath saved thee, go in peace", Luke 7:50.
She is survived by a daughter in law, Betty B. Bradford of Salisbury and Chuckey, TN; a grandson, John Edward Bradford of Chuckey, TN and her "Salisbury Sister", Doris Dove.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Edward Bradford; a son, W. Wayne Bradford; and a brother, Bernard Ellis.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 11:00 am at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron. Rev. Jay Hurley and Rev. Harry Weir will officiate.
