Leo Charles Mastronardi

Rhodesdale-Leo Charles Mastronardi was born in Philadelphia, the son of Patricia and John Mastronardi. Leo was raised in Dorchester County on the family farm and attended Catholic and public schools until he graduated from North Dorchester High School in 1971. He started his employment career with Bayshore Foods in Easton, working in the poultry business for over 27 years. He enjoyed his relationships with many farmers across the Eastern Shore. Leo attended UD and the University of Pennsylvania to continue his education in animal science. After his career in the poultry industry, Leo started Executive Protection Services until his illness prevented him from continuing that field.

Leo was a gentle man with a huge heart. He volunteered at numerous organizations and fund raisers, including American Cancer Society Relay For Life, Concerns of Police Survivors, and St. Francis de Sales Catholic School and Church. He loved cooking dinners for the school and helping out when needed.

On the social side, Leo was a member of the North Dorchester Jaycees, Sons of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus in Salisbury. Leo had the love for nature both on land and the bay. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing and the beach.

He is survived by his siblings, Jeannie Mastronardi, John Mastronardi, Mary Dukes and Patrick Mastronardi; their children, Mark Mowbray, Jamie Mastronardi, SFC John Mastronardi, Joe Mastronardi, Victoria Milhollan, Laura Wheeley and Patrick Mastronardi Jr. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Nathan Mowbray and Richard Dukes.

A Christian burial and service will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury on Thursday, March 27, at 11 a.m. Visitations will be held Wednesday, March 26, at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg from 4-6 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 8 p.m. Interment will be at Galestown Cemetery.
