Atlantic-Mrs. Sue Mason Poulson Chesser, 80, beloved wife of Herman E. Chesser and a resident of Atlantic, VA, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Riverside Shore Rehabilitation Center in Parksley, VA.

Born July 8, 1933 in Accomac, VA, she was the daughter of the late O. Thomas Mason, Sr. and Nellie M. Mason. Mrs. Chesser retired from Accomack County Department of Social Services where she was a secretary, and was a member of Atlantic Baptist Church. Sue was a loyal and faithful member of the Soroptimist Club of Accomack County, serving as Chairman of the Rachel B. Hall Crape Myrtle Project; a Past-President and Secretary of the A-N Antique Car Club; and member of Women on Missions.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by three nieces, Murlee Mason Thomas and husband Keith, of Leesburg, FL, Susan Nell Mason of Tennessee, and Martha Mason Simpson and husband Allen, of Largo, FL; one nephew, James Stewart Mason of Daugherty, VA; eight great-nieces and nephews; sixteen great-great-nieces and nephews; and two godchildren, Christopher Miles of Sign Post, VA, and Lynne Miles Carter of Florida. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Wallace Poulson; and a brother, O. Thomas Mason, Jr.

Funeral services conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home, Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 3:00 p.m., with the Reverend Richard Inman officiating. Interment will follow in the Atlantic Baptist Church Cemetery.
