George W. Bramble, age 83, of Seaford, DE passed away at the Hospice Center in Milford, on Saturday, April 5, 2014 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on the family farm near Galestown to Otis and Derotha Dunn Bramble. He was predeceased by three brothers, Joe Bramble, William Bramble and Gerald Bramble and one sister, Anna Collison.

George worked at the DuPont Plant from 1949 - 1989 and retired as an electrician. He served in the Navy from 1951 - 1955 during the Korean Conflict aboard destroyers. His favorite ship was the USS Willard Keith, where he kept the ships payroll and dispersed the pay to the sailors aboard the ship.

George's favorite pastime was bowling. He loved the game and was a very good bowler until his illness prevented him from participating. He also played golf and was a member of the Seaford Golf Club until its closing. He was the president of the Club 50 Bowling League until he resigned a few months ago because of his health. He is also a member of the American Legion in Seaford.

He loved birds and squirrels and he kept them well fed. Gardening and yard work was a favorite thing for him to do and he kept the yard and garden in beautiful condition.

His services will be held at the Christ Evangelist Church, 9802 Camp Rd, Laurel, DE by Pastor Roland Tice on Thursday, April 10th at 2 PM, where friends may call from 1 to 2. Graveside services at Odd Fellows Cemetery will be conducted by Pastor Joe LeCates.
