Eden-George Lowder "Buddy" Brumbley, 66, of Eden went to his heavenly home on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Calvin Brumbley and Beulah Staton Brumbley.
"Buddy" was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother. He was a US Army veteran and member of Impact Church in Fruitland. His last employment was with Filtronic Comtek for 9 years. Buddy was devoted to his Lord and served Him by filling many positions in the church - usher, board member and maintenance. He also loved to attend the Shorebirds, play cards and loved the 49'ers, but most of all he was a people person with a great sense of humor and also loved his dog "Chips". Buddy was also a caregiver and special friend to Joseph Centineo.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Shirley Parsons Brumbley; 2 daughters, Amanda "Susie" Willey and her husband, Joe of Eden, Michelle "Shelly" Brumbley and Adrian of Eden; six grandchildren, Brittney Willey, Cierra Dickerson, Branddon Willey, Brooke Willey, Lexus Dashiell, Ashley Handy. He is also survived by a brother, William "Irv" Brumbley of Salisbury and one sister, Brenda Wooters and her husband, Paul of Salisbury.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Brumbley and an adopted sister, Dee Bolen.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 11 am at Holloway Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Parsons and Rev. Ron McLeod officiating. There will be a visitation on Wednesday from 6-8 pm and Thursday one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will be held on Thursday at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
