CRISFIELD-Charles Elwood Ford, 82, of Crisfield died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Hartley Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pocomoke City.
Born March 30, 1932, in Somerset County, he was a son of the late John Ford and the late Mildred Bozman Ford Richards. His wife, Joan Lyons Ford, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Ford served in the U.S. Army in Korea and was a carpenter, waterman and chicken farmer, who worked hard and loved to fish. He was a devoted father and grandfather.
He is survived by one son, Charles Elwood Ford Jr. (Tina); one daughter, Kathy Ford Parker (William); his caregiver and friend, Rita Harris; two brothers, Clyde Ford and Nolan Ford (Norma); nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Charles, Candy, Noah, Melissa, Becky, Matt, Beth, and Katie; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service, officiated by Dr. Kevin Eley, will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, at Holloway Funeral Home in Pocomoke City. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
