Eugene Russell Price

Marion Station-Eugene Russell Price, "GENO-O," 87, of here was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 2, 2014, at his home. Born Dec. 23, 1926 in Crisfield to the late Russell Walter Price and Blanche Edith Price, Eugene married Shirley Ford in February 1952 until her passing in 2008. Eugene, a veteran of World War II, was inducted into the Army in April 1945. During his time in the Army he served for 11 months as a medical technician in the European Theater of Operations with the 1st Medical Battalion. He performed various medical duties in the care and treatment of the sick and wounded. He gave emergency medical treatment and prepared patients for evacuation. He was the owner/operator, along with his wife, of GENE-O'S General Store located in Fairmount for 32 years.

Eugene is survived by his children, Deborah Armstrong (Allen) and Rhonda Monzeglio (Todd), both of Marion Station; his grandchildren, Natasha Greene (CL) of Salisbury and Patricia Hinman (Bobby) of Marion Station; his great-grandchildren, Dustin Price (Vanessa) of Elizabethton, Tenn., Tabatha Jones and Savannah Armstrong, both of Marion Station; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Alexis and Justin Greene, both of Salisbury; his great-great-grandchildren, Lorelei Greene and the soon to be Genevieve Price, both of Elizabethton; and his dog, Tipper.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to his caregiver for the last two years, Allen Armstrong (son-in-law).

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne. The Rev. Nolan Ford will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to service time. He will be interred with military honors in the family plot in Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to an animal humane society of your choice.
