Joseph E. Kolnsberg

Ocean Pines-Joseph Edward Kolnsberg, age 82, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at his home. Born in West New York, NJ, he was the son of the late William and Marie Meyer Kolnsberg. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Post Kolnsberg and children Mark Edward Kolnsberg and his wife Heather of Beverly, MA, Robyn Ann Brunetto and her husband Joseph of Ocean Pines, and Kathryn Elizabeth Moclaire and her husband Herbert Tule of Berlin. He was an adored grandfather to Cory Moclaire, Elizabeth Doyle, Joseph Brunetto, Galiya Kolnsberg, and great-grandchildren; Lucas and Lana Perrell. He was preceded in death by a grandson Kurits Moclaire and a brother William Kolnsberg. Also surviving is his sister Betty Roberts of Cape Cod, MA and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kolnsberg was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and had worked as an industrial engineer with B.D. Industries in Caldwell, NJ. He was a member of the Community Church at Ocean Pines, Ocean Pines Boat Club, Ocean City Power Squadron, Civic Association, Kiwanis, and Meals on Wheels. He was a volunteer at Assateague National Park, and the Assateague Life Saving Building. Mr. Kolnsberg was a Master Gardener and a wine connoisseur. He loved tennis, fishing, hiking, camping and antique collecting.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 4:00 PM at the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin. Rev Boyd Etter and Rev. Bob Miller will officiate. Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 PM prior to the service, and Sunday afternoon from 2:00-4:00 PM. Cremation will follow the service on Monday. Inurnment at Garden of the Pines will be private for the family. A donation in his memory may be made to: Coastal Hospice P.O.
