Princess Anne-John Wayne Mitchell, 73, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Aurora Senior Living. Born in Salisbury, he was a son of the late Joseph Samuel Mitchell and Betty Henry Mitchell. He is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Sharon Melone of Seaford, Carol and Ozzie Wilkinson of Hebron, and Vicki and Chuck Campbell of Milford; grandchildren, Andrew and Abigail Wilkinson and Bethany and Jenna Campbell; a brother and his wife, Jack and Jenny Mitchell of Salisbury; and a longtime faithful friend, Jeri Mitchell of Salisbury.
After graduating from Mardela High, he went to work on the railroad and married Judy Cordrey, with whom he had his daughters. After leaving the railroad, he was employed by DuPont for many years. He also served in the Army National Guard, raised chickens with his parents and worked part time at Wright's Exxon.
He was a past member of the Sharptown Volunteer Fire Dept. and enjoyed working at its carnival for many years in the "animal booth," and was a past member of American Legion Post 64.
His greatest love was his "three little girls" and his grandchildren, whom he prayed for daily. He also enjoyed being on the water, Nascar, playing dominoes, and good food.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 12, at 7 p.m. at Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury, with visitation one hour prior thereto. David Carroll will officiate.
