William Kury, Jr., 76, of Wilson went to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 7, 2014.
The family will receive friends 7 - 9 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. A private ceremony for the family will follow at a later date.
Bill was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 16, 1938. He graduated from Snow Hill High School in Maryland in 1956, then attended The Ohio State University and served in the United States Air Force. In 1970, he and his family moved from Salisbury, MD to Wilson. Bill loved airplanes, aviation history, Model A Fords, gardening, cutting his grass, getting his way, a good solid argument and reading his Bible. He was a member of Westmoreland Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wilson.
He is survived by his three daughters and four grandchildren, Jill Lamm and her husband, Jerry of Columbus, OH and their children, William and Olivia, Jody Hill and her husband, Joe of Raleigh and their son, Tucker, and Jamie Thompson and her husband, Greg of Wilmington and their daughter, Eleanor. He is also survived by his brother, Rudy Kury of Spring Hill, FL and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilhelm and Hilda Kury, and his sister, Hilda K. Stagg.

Agrawal and Dr. Shaun Donegan of Cancer Centers of North Carolina, the wonderful nurses and staff on 5C at WakMed and the entire team at Transitions LifeCare Hospice Home of Raleigh for the compassionate care and comfort that was given to him and his family. They would also like to thank Ms. Esther Haynes for the friendship and care she gave to their dad.
