Doris Mae Edson

Salisbury-Doris Mae Edson, 87, of Salisbury passed quietly Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was the first daughter of the late Joshua Tilghman Knotts and Mabel Carter Nichols of Easton.

She was born in Baltimore on March 23, 1927. She was married to soul mate Robert Carroll Edson on July 7, 1974. They would have celebrated 40 wonderful years this summer. She worked at the American Red Cross, St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, the Country House and John B. Parsons Home in Salisbury. She was also actively involved in Red Hats.

She was fun-loving and enjoyed decorating, collecting antiques and was best known for her lavish gourmet dinner parties and famous banana crème and rhubarb pies and desserts.

Doris is survived by her spouse, Robert; a brother, James Knotts of Hillsboro, Md.; two sisters, Joy Ervin of Oxford, Md., and Judy Bradley of Easton.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two sons, Herbert R. Thomas and John Michael Thomas, and her younger brother, Robert Knotts.

The family of Doris Mae Edson wishes to thank many friends for all their love and support and especially her caregiver, Sarah Young.
