Salisbury-Allen Everwin Wright, 86, of Salisbury died Monday, June 30, 2014 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. Born in Baltimore he was the son of the late Reuben Chester Wright and Carrie Mae Taylor Wright.
Mr. Wright enlisted in the United States Army December 4, 1945 where he was a Corporal E4 Military Police in the 9th Service Command on the Manhattan Project. He received the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Meritorious Award and was honorably discharged on May 16, 1947. He was a member of the Steamfitters Local 438 in Baltimore from June 12, 1956 until his death on June 30, 2014. He was a past Master Mason in the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Maryland. Al was an avid lover of Big Band music, old movies, books, entertaining, and traveling.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joyce Broyles Wright; four daughters, Linda Stanley (Buck), Pat Wright (Steve Mullen), Tonie Linardi (Mark), and Lou Ann Grier (Michael) all of Baltimore; grandson, Michael Allen Stanley; two Goddaughters, Shauna Swem of Acworth, GA and Lynn Culver of Escondido, CA; sister, Doris Mae Gobbel of Elkridge, MD; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Carrie Armenda Swem and LaVerne Elizabeth Smith; and his pride and joy Dachshund, Ginger Joy.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
