Laurel-Thomas Edwin Massey of Laurel passed away at his home on Saturday, July 5, 2014. He was 58.
Born in Seaford, on September 27, 1955, he was the son of Ethel Wright Massey of Laurel and the late Daniel S. Massey.
As a young boy and man, he resided at Riverton and later moved to Galestown, where he lived the majority of his life prior to moving to Laurel a few years ago.
A graduate of Wicomico High School - Salisbury, Mr. Massey had spent his working life in the farming industry having worked for Calloway, Bennett and the Donohoe farms in Mardela Springs. He had also worked for a time at Reese's hatchery in Laurel.
"Tommy", as he was best known to his family and friends, is survived, in addition to his mother, by three brothers and four sisters: Carlton ( Virginia ) Massey - Blades; Raymond ( Eloise ) Massey - Seaford; Benjamin ( Angel ) Massey - Secretary; and Brenda ( Jimmy ) Cole - Eldorado; Margaret ( Gary ) Kinnamon - Cannon; Jane Cordrey - Seaford and Terri ( Rick ) Seymore - Laurel; and eleven nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Anthony ( A.J. ) and his wife Patricia Massey - Hurlock.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Galestown Cemetery. Pastor Ruth T. Tull of Christ U.M. Church, Laurel, will officiate.
