Vincent Thomas Holland

Berlin-Vincent Thomas Holland, 98, of here, departed this life on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at the Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Showell, he was the son of the late Charles E. Holland and Lillie Mae Riley Holland. His wife, Clara Ellen Holland, also preceded him in death in 2006.

Mr. Holland was a member of Curtis United Methodist Church in Bishopville, where he served as a member of the Trustee Board, United Methodist Men, Senior Choir and Berlin Male Chorus.

Prior to retiring, he was employed by Bishop Processing Co. as a truck driver.

He will be lovingly remembered by: one son, Sylvester (Billie) Blake of Salisbury; three daughters, Ella Mae (Lee) Blake of Berlin, Elsie (Anthony) Deneal and Ilene Johnson, both of Salisbury; one brother, Levin (Rebecca) Holland of Millsboro; three nephews, Levin Holland Jr. of North Carolina, Fulton (Ida) Holland of Bishopville and Russell (Nicole) Holland of Delaware; three special nieces, Harriett (Leonard) Drummond of Berlin, Norma Deal of Tennessee and Diane (Raymond) Smith of Delaware; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Milton, Fletcher and Morris Campher, and one grandson, John Edward Johnson.

Mr. Holland will lie in repose on Wednesday from noon-1 p.m. at Curtis United Methodist Church, Campbelltown Road, Bishopville. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. The Rev. Timothy A. Duffield Sr. will be the officiating pastor. Interment will follow at St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery, Assateague Road, Berlin.
