Princess Anne-Yvonne Valyrie Brown, 71, of here, departed this life on Friday, July 18, 2014, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Born in Chance, she was the daughter of the late Carter D. Bivens and Grace Price Bivens.
Mrs. Brown was a member of St. Charles United Methodist Church in Chance where she served as an usher and a member of the Culinary Ministry.
She will be lovingly remembered by: her husband of 51 years, James Irvin Brown, Sr. of Princess Anne; one daughter, Regina (William O. III) Burnette of Delmar, DE; two sons, James "Jimmy" Brown, Jr. and Keith Brown, both of Princess Anne; one brother, Carter A. (Viola) Bivens of Princess Anne; two sisters, Joanne (George) Burnette of Princess Anne and Gloria (Richard) Jones of Avenel, NJ; two grandchildren, Jamar Brown and Jashon Stallings, both of Princess Anne; two great-grandchildren, Jamar Stallings and Jason Stallings; a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Brewington Bivens and Robert Bivens, and one sister, Joan Jewett.
Mrs. Brown will lie in repose on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home, P.A., 1618 West Road, Salisbury and Friday from 12 to 1 PM at St. Charles United Methodist Church, 10884 Mahlon Price Road, Chance. The funeral service will begin at 1 PM. Rev. Deangelo Johnson will be the Officiating Pastor. Interment will follow at St. Charles United Methodist Church Cemetery, Chance.
