Laurel-N. Charlene Dubinski, 81, of Laurel, Del., passed away at her home Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014. Charlene was born in Laurel, a daughter of the late Earl Delaney Wootten and Jerdie Mitchell Wootten.
Charlene retired as a longtime head teller for the Wilmington Trust Co. She was a lifetime member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Laurel, American Legion Auxiliary Post 19, Red Hat Society, past treasurer of Laurel Alumni Association, and the Laurel Senior Center. She enjoyed playing bridge and pinochle with her friends.
Mrs. Dubinski is survived by her son, Donald Dubinski, and wife, Maryrose, of Laurel and her daughters, Dawn Cherrix and husband, Michael, of Laurel and Lori Zaher and husband, Thomas, of Perkasie, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Joan Dubinski of Oshkosh, Wis.; nine grandchildren, Frank and wife, Alison, Patrick and wife, Melinda, and Jacob Dubinski, Bridget, Erin, Megan and Brendan Grady, Michael and Haley Cherrix; and two great-grandchildren, Leah and Paige Dubinski. She also had two very special friends, her neighbors, Byard and Darlene O'Neal.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Dubinski, in 2010 and two siblings, Edsel Wootten and Reba Hearn.
A funeral service will be held at Centenary United Methodist Church, 200 W. Market St., Laurel, on Thursday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m., preceded by a viewing to be held from noon-2. The Rev. Joseph Burris will officiate. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
