David McKinley Joynes

SALISBURY — David McKinley Joynes, 79, of here died Friday, April 20, 2012, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Temperanceville, he was a son of the late Chancy J. and Carrie Justice Joynes.

Prior to retiring, he was employed as a truck driver.

Fond memories will be cherished by two sons, George D. (Anita Bateman-Joynes) Joynes Sr. of Salisbury and James E. (Barbara) Joynes of Kansas City, Mo.; four daughters, Shirley M. (Andrew) Fisher and Maggie P. Joynes, both of Salisbury, Carol Ann (Hansel) Thomas of Fairburn, Ga., and Terri L. Joynes of Seaford; two foster sons, Steven and Bryant Crosell of Salisbury; a sister-in-law, Mamie Joynes of Salisbury; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce E. Joynes; two brothers, Randolph and James Joynes; a sister, Annabelle Thompson; a grandchild, Kenya E. Joynes; and the mother of his children, Georgianna Joynes.

He will lie in repose on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home PA, 1618 West Road in Salisbury, and Saturday from 1:30- 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, at 528 Booth St. (at the corner of Delaware Avenue) in Salisbury. The funeral service will begin at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be in Green Acres Memorial Park on West Road in Salisbury.
