OCEAN PINES — Muna Anor Hindi, 22, passed away peacefully in her lifelong Ocean Pines home on Thursday, April 5, 2012.
Muna was born Sept. 9, 1989, in Salisbury. She was a 2007 graduate of Stephen Decatur High School in Berlin and a 2011 graduate of Hood College in Frederick, Md.
From the ages of 4-16, Muna participated on the Ocean Pines Swim Team. Throughout her life she was an active member of the Community Church of Ocean Pines. During the past six years she donated her time and contributed to the Appalachian Service Project. She looked forward to attending the ASP's annual trip as an adult chaperone this year and hoped to one day join the Peace Corps.
Muna is survived by her maternal grandparents, James and Patricia Canard of Ocean Pines; and siblings, Jennifer McCarty, Shaun Surber, Khalid "Mike" Hindi and Jessica Galloway. She is also survived by her maternal uncles, Richard and James William Canard; and her maternal aunt, Rita Canard.
Muna was preceded in death by her mother, Deborah Hindi.
There will be an open memorial service for all friends and family at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Community Church of Ocean Pines.
