SNOW HILL —James Cleaman Waters Sr. died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Berlin.
Born in Snow Hill, he was a son of the late Hasty and Aline (Truitt) Waters.
He was a retired school bus contractor with the Worcester County Board of Education.
He was a lifelong member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, where he served in food service distribution and many other capacities. He was also active in the community including the Samaritan Shelter; former past master of Snow Hill Lodge 105, F&AM, P.H.A.; member of Unionville Lodge 45, F&AM, P.H.A., Pocomoke City; past Commander-in-Chief of King David Consistory 284 and member of Abulahab 206, both of Salisbury.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Waters; daughter, Stephanie Waters McClellan (Joseph) of Gwynn Oak, Md.; son, James Waters Jr. (Sibylla) of Odenton, Md.; one granddaughter, Alexis McClellan; one sister, Grace Evans of Glen Burnie, Md.; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Three brothers, Howard, Sherman and Elwood Waters, preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held at noon Monday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 107 S. Collins St., Snow Hill, Md. 21863. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and Monday one hour prior to service. Masonic rites will be held 7 p.m. Sunday.
Interment will be in Ebenezer Church Cemetery in Snow Hill.
Funeral services are entrusted to Jolley Memorial Chapel of Salisbury.
