Lucille R. Fooks

SALISBURY — Lucille R. Fooks, 83, of Salisbury died Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born in Ravenden, Ark., she was a daughter of the late Gilbert B. Sanford and Clara St. Clair Sanford.

Lucy was a member of Community Christian Church in Salisbury. She and her husband established and operated Woodland Nursery in Salisbury since 1968. Lucy cherished her role as wife, mother and grandmother. She also took pride in managing her household.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Charles T. Fooks; her children, Chuck and Mandy Fooks, Faith Elaine Fooks, Cynthia Lucille and Daniel Burt, all of Salisbury; six grandchildren, Philip Townsend II, Mark Townsend, Christie Townsend, Zachary Burt, Garrett Fooks and Kelsey Fooks; four great-grandchildren, Mason Townsend, Jackson Townsend, Hallie Townsend and Austin Townsend; siblings, Jackie Madison of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Georgene Pickett of Imboden, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death bya brother, Harold B. Sanford; and a sister, Judy Goff.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Holloway Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Brent Brady will officiate. Interment will be in Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.
