Jeryl Elizabeth Young

Salisbury—Jeryl Elizabeth Young, 64, of here, departed this life on Friday, November 16, 2012, at Coastal Hospice At the Lake in Salisbury. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late James Allen Jones and Sarah Elizabeth Jones. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Samuel Nathan Peters and her foster mother, Marian Williams.

Ms. Young joined Lighthouse Full Gospel Ministries in 2005 and was an associate member of Higher Hope in Christ Ministries where Rev. Janice Humphrey serves as Pastor.

She retired from Peninsula Regional Medical Center as a Certified Nursing Assistant after 43 years of service.

Fond memories will remain with: one daughter, Danita A. (Lionel) Long of Salisbury; six brothers, Reginald Jones and Clarence Jones, both of Salisbury, Samuel Jones, Dean (Cynthia) Jones, Arthur (Janet) Jones, and Brian Jones, all of Baltimore; three sisters, Stephanie Jones and Sharlene Jones, both of Salisbury, and Gwendolyn Jones of Baltimore; two adopted brothers, Dave (Jean) Robbins of Snow Hill and Lester (Bernice) Black of Fruitland; three foster sisters, Margaret Curtis of Greensboro, NC, Patricia Dees of Burnsville, MN and Tina (Stanford) Dixon of Salisbury; one cousin, Arvey Peters of Georgia; one goddaughter, Ronica Palmer of Virginia Beach, VA; four devoted nephews, Shawn Jones, Clifton Jones, Demarr Jones, and Delante Jones; and several other nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, special friends, Bernice and Regina Blake, Bertha Williams, Barbara Newborns, Estelle Hutt, Chuck Dennis, Alberta Price, Dinette Cottingham, Dr. Julius (Linda) Zant, Dr. Pasquale (Cathy) Petrera, Cathy McGlotten, Lydia Moore, Gwen Andrews, and Justin Custis, and other friends.

In addition to her parents, stepfather and foster mother, she was also preceded in death by one godson, Wyman Newborns II; two sisters, Edna Jones and Cheryl Jones; and two brothers, Frederick Jones and Timothy Jones.

Ms. Young will lie in repose on Saturday from 11 AM to 1:30 PM at First Baptist Church located on 528 Booth Street and Delaware Avenue in Salisbury. The funeral service will begin at 1:30 PM. Bishop Paul Harmon will be the eulogist and Rev. Janice Humphrey will officiate. Interment will be in Green Acres Memorial Park, Inc. on West Road in Salisbury.
