Edward F. Keenan

Pocomoke City—Edward Franklin Keenan, 92, of Pocomoke City, died on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at the Hartley Hall Nursing Home in Pocomoke City.

Born Saturday, January 17, 1920 in Pocomoke City, he was the son of the late Edward and Doris Webb Keenan and the husband of the late Margaret Merritt Keenan (February 15, 2009).

A World War II veteran, he served in the Army from 1937 until 1941, earning a Purple Heart in Germany. Following his military service he worked for Mason Canning Company and retired from Beauchamp Construction.

He is survived by seven sister and brother in laws; Florence and Harvey Merritt, Dorothy Willing, Margie Merritt, all of Pocomoke City, Ida Webb of Salisbury, Joyce Boyes of St. Joseph, MO and Ray Merritt of Delmar, DE.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday in the First Baptist Cemetery on Old Snow Hill Road in Pocomoke City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Dept., 1410 Market Street, Pocomoke City, MD 21851.
