DELMAR —Peggy B. Ward, 87, of Delmar passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Delmar Manor Assisted Living in Delmar. Prior to her illness she was a resident of Seaford. Born in Delmar, Del., she was the daughter of the late Joseph I. Beach and Lettie Goslee Beach.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Ward; a sister, Betty B. Brickhouse; four brothers, Joseph Douglas Beach, Robert "Bob" S. Beach, Clifford M. Beach and an infant brother, James Donald Beach, and stepmother, Dora Culver Beach.
Peggy is survived by a brother, Howard S. Beach, and his wife, Jean, of Selbyville, formerly of Delmar; sisters-in-law, Jean T. Beach of Salisbury and Phyllis T. Beach of Delmar; and several nieces and nephews.
Peggy attended Delmar High School and was employed by E.I. DuPont Co. in Seaford for 38 years. She and her husband loved to dance and spend time with friends and family. During the later years of her life, she was devoted to her pet dog, Molly, who is being cared for by her niece and namesake, Peggy Lee Brickhouse Moore of Norfolk, Va. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Seaford.
Visitation will be held at Short Funeral Home, 13 Grove St., Delmar, Del., on Tuesday, between the hours of 11 a.m.noon. A funeral service, officiated by Hospice Pastor Howard Travers, will begin at noon, with interment to follow at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar.
