Salisbury—Angeline Fortune, the daughter of the late Isaiah, Sr. and Della Mae Armstrong, was born July 9, 1918, in Whaleyville. She departed this life on Friday, January 4, 2013, at the Wicomico Nursing Home.

Angeline was raised in Whaleyville and loved the community and its people. In 1945, Angeline married John L. Fortune and they were married for 47 years until his death.

Angeline was a faithful member of Pullet's United Methodist Church in Whaleyville. There she served as an usher, communion steward and a member of the United Methodist Women.

She leaves to cherish her memories: five sons and four daughters, Littleton John Fortune (Elsa) of the Philippines, Barry J. Fortune (Jill) of Rochester, NY, Brian P. Fortune and Maurice Fortune, both of NY, Lamont Fortune (Marie) of Princess Anne, Diniece Perdow (Harry) of Salisbury, Marvella Rounds (William, Sr.) of Hebron, Lorene Y. Evans (Marshall) of Princess Anne, and Berniece C. Simms (Hansel) of Salisbury; one brother, Joseph Armstrong of Chester, PA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Angeline is preceded in death by: three daughters, Montena Faye, Marguerite Cisco and Beverly Fortune; six brothers, Calvin, Edward, Thomas, John, Isaiah, Jr., and Louis Armstrong, Sr.; and one sister, Mary Ray.

Mrs. Fortune will lie in repose on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home, P.A. located on 1618 West Road in Salisbury and Friday from 10 to 11 AM at Curtis United Methodist Church in Bishopville. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM. Rev. Timothy A. Duffield, Sr. will officiate. Interment will be in Whaleyville Cemetery located on Blueberry Road in Whaleyville. Please visit to offer condolences to the family.
