Hebron—Mabel Lee Horsey, 68 of N. Main Street in Hebron, died Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.
Born in Seale, Ala., she was the daughter of Sarah (Bellamy) Elias of Detroit, Mich., and the late Willie Elias.
She was employed for 32 years with Perdue Farms, Inc., retiring in 2006. Upon her retirement she was employed for 13 years with the Salisbury School.
She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Hebron, where she served on the Combined Choir, Gospel Choir and the Women of St. Luke. She also participated in several capacities with in the church.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband of 47 years: Robert L. Horsey of Hebron; two sons, Kent (Sherrie) of Salisbury and Major Barry (Kyong) Horsey, stationed with the US Army at Ft. Hood in Killeen, Texas; a stepson, Craig Handy of Baltimore; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five sisters and five brothers, Rosie (Alvin) Thompson, Willie Ann (Lawson) Walker, Susie Thomas, Lillie (Anthony) Giddens, Betty Elias, Waynetta and Sandra Ezell; William, Luvern "Joe", Scott, Ted and John Nickerson; one aunt, Mamie Bellamy, three brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
A brother, Charlie Elias preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Mt. Zion U.M. Church, 6101 Quantico Road, Quantico, MD. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 8064 Levin Dashiell Road in Hebron and on Saturday, at Mt. Zion, one hour prior to service. Interment will be 11 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2013 at Eastern Shore Veteran's Cemetery in Hurlock.
Funeral services are entrusted to Jolley Memorial Chapel. of Salisbury.
