John Richard Taylor

FEDERALSBURG—John Richard Taylor "RT" "Dizzy," born July 10, 1935, in Federalsburg, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Coastal Hospice in Salisbury.

He served as an M.P. in the Army for nine years. He served a short term as a police office in Federalsburg. He was a truck driver, and was also a commerical artist.

He is survived by his loving companion of 12 years, Shirley Wilkins; daughter, Chris Noel Bell; son, John Richard Taylor Jr.,; granddaughter, Nicole Bell; sister, Suzanne Taylor Justus; four nieces, eight great-nieces, four great-nephews and two great-great- nephews. He is also survived by an extended family, whom he loved very much, Walt and Joannne Jones, their children, and Charlene, Shonda and Lisa and their spouses and children, Corey Davis, and Brian Disharoon. Richard enjoyed festive activites with Bill and Joyce Burton, Richard and Mickey Chatham, and friends at Liberty Church of Christ, where he attended. He is also survived by his canine companion, Scooby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. "Jack" Taylor and Myrtle Jennings Taylor; two brothers, Phillip Glover, and Julian Glover; sisters, Priscilla Taylor and Betty Lou Taylor Fluharty.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
