Marcella Marshall Murfree

Salisbury—Marcella Marshall Murfree, 54, went to be with her Lord on April 15, 2013, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. Born and raised in Salisbury, Maryland; Marcella was the youngest of two children born to Mr. Robert & Mrs. Dorothy Marshall.

Marcella received her formal education in the Wicomico County Public School System, graduating from Wicomico High School in 1976. She began her short working career in the Secretarial Department at Perdue Farms, also working as a Developmental Parent at the Holly Center as well as a Realtor. The job that Marcella took more serious than any was that of a Wife, and Mother. She was united in Holy Matrimony to her high school sweetheart, Bryan E. Murfree on October 11, 1980. From this union were born their pride and joy, Jenna and Colin Murfree.

Marcella was a true servant of Christ who offered all of herself to others. She was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she served as Youth Leader for many years. Marcella sang in the choir, attended Sunday school, served on numerous committees, planned and organized meals for Vacation Bible School, church socials, fellowships, and dinners. She was well known for the delicious and extensive meals she often planned and prepared. She loved Grace Church, and serving members of the congregation. Marcella loved to cook, bake, work on interior design projects, travel, and play games. She took pride in planning family gatherings over holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions. Her strong will and determination to put others first would always have her taking someone to the doctor, shopping, and cooking, or running errands. Marcella was a gentle soul, whose passion was caring and providing for others, in addition to caring for her own family. She would always volunteer to take on any project, even though she had countless others that she was in the midst of. Marcella loved to gather with friends and family, and served as second mother to MANY children! The void that is left by the loss of our beloved Marcella is one that can never be filled; her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her!

Marcella leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted and loving husband of 33 years, Bryan E. Murfree; one daughter, Jenna A. Murfree; one son, Colin M. Murfree; Her mother, Dorothy Marshall; one sister, Benita Harris (Ken); one niece, Carol Green (Scott); one nephew, Austin Harris; her father in-law, Dorsey E. Murfree; 3 Brothers-in-law; 3 sisters-in-law; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Marcella was preceded in death by her Dad; Robert P. Marshall, brother in-law, Gordon Wallace; niece Shannon M. Wallace; and mother in-law, Annie R. Murfree
