Gladys Mae Riehl Weiland

Salisbury-Gladys Mae Riehl Weiland, 91, of Salisbury, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Coastal Hospice At The Lake. Born in Irwin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Louis B. Riehl and Miriam Noble Riehl.

She worked for Wicomico County Department of Social Services and later retiring from Deers Head Hospital as a social worker in 1986. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and Women's Auxiliary of Elks Lodge 817, both in Salisbury. She enjoyed playing golf with her late husband at Nassawango Country Club and volunteering at Deers Head.

She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Leigh Steczak and her husband, Michael of Ahoskie, NC; 2 grandchildren, Michael Steczak and his wife, Jacqueline of Parkville, MO and Melissa Steczak of Carlsbad, CA; a great granddaughter, Miranda Steczak of Parkville, MO; a brother in law, Rev. Harold Piovesan of Sanford, FL; and a sister in law, Rose Weiland of Federalsburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, LaMar Lewis Weiland; a grandson, Joseph Steczak; and a sister, Marietta Piovesan.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. A committal service will follow for both, Mr. & Mrs. Weiland at the Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg with Rev. Dr. Daniel W. Rich officiating.
