Samuel Glasgow Obituary
Sharptown-Samuel Charles Glasgow, 89, of Sharptown, died peacefully Thursday, June 29, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born July 2, 1927 in Riverton, he was the son of the late Clarence Glasgow and Sadie Boston Glasgow.
He was a US Navy veteran, and for thirty four years worked as a truck driver for Glasgow and Davis, hauling for Perdue. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Dor-Wic American Legion Post 218 in Sharptown, and Roelma Lodge 206 AF&AM.
Charlie, as he was known to his friends, loved to tell a good joke and his laugh and good humor was what made him so loved by all.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie M. Glasgow, whom he married on February 17, 1947; four daughters, Bonnie Hill of Dagsboro, Linda Dege of Woodland, Patricia Glasgow of Sharptown, and Valerie Benjamin of Sharptown; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Private interment will be held at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 3:00PM at Asbury United Methodist Church in Sharptown where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Pastor Terry Bernard will officiate. A dinner will be served at the church community center following the service.
Memorial donations may be made to Coastal Hospice, P. O. Box 1733, Salisbury MD 21802.
Arrangements are in the care of Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market.

I can't believe it has been 2 years. I miss you more now than ever. When people say I remind them of you, I'm so proud. You're still my hero, Dad. I love you so much. I just hope I make you proud. You were the person I aspire to be. I know you and Mom are rejoicing together in heaven. I'm just so grateful your pain is gone. And I bet you're in heaven showing everyone your pride and joy. I miss your smile, laughter, your wonderful humor, and the way you always made me feel special. I love you, Dad ❤

I will miss his gentle, kind nature, the way he never knew a stranger and treated everyone the same. The jokes, I never knew anyone that could remember and tell them the way he could. You were a true example of what a husband, father, Uncle and friend should be. I pray that God will place a peace in the hearts of Aunt Lillie, Bonnie, Linda, Pat and Valerie in the coming days. I will miss and remember you always.
