With his loving family at his side, dad quietly slipped his moorings for his final voyage...
Predeceased by wife Jacqueline of 54 years and survived by three sons Marcus (Wendy), Allan (Louise), Julian (Leslie), and seven grandchildren. Family are delighted that dad was blessed with finding love with Eileen Cole. Together they lit up the room!
Ever the gentleman, his thoughts were always for those around him. Civic minded, and vocal for social causes, Albert's compassion for the underdog came from a childhood straight out of Dickens.
Born at Blackfriars Rd. He was called up to the Royal Navy in 1950 and served on HMS Phoebe in the Med, which anchored his love of the sea.
Albert and Jacky married in 1954, and immigrated to Vancouver in 1966 with three boys in tow. He began his career as Probation Officer and rose to Regional Director of Corrections.
Albert's greatest enjoyment was to relax with friends and family on SV Alabye. He loved to recite Shakespeare, and sing along with the greatest tenors. All were regaled by his salty wisdom and rapier wit loaded with poetic and profound references.
Sail on dad... Up Spirits!
