It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jack Philip Norman Webb, 85, on Tuesday, June 18th, after a short battle with cancer. Jack was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1928. He joined the navy at the young age of 19 and was stationed on Canada's east coast where he met his wife and began his family. Leaving the navy after 25 years, he went back to school for computer programming and begun his civilian duties for Health and Welfare Canada in Ottawa until his retirement in 1989. Jack moved out west in 2005 and was a very social and active man who right up to the end enjoyed curling, lawn bowling, swimming, hanging out at the Legion and walking his favorite grand-doggie Maggie. Jack could always be heard saying "Keep Smiling". Jack is survived by his children Jack Webb Jr., Janice Humenny, Patricia Curle, and; his grandchildren Adam Robertson, Ryan Robertson, and Kailyn Humenny; and predeceased by his daughter Kathie Robertson. He will also be missed by Katherine Webb, Ross Lodge and the O'Reilly family in Ottawa. To the entire staff at the Irene Thomas Hospice in Ladner, we thank you for filling his last days with great care and compassion. You were all amazing, and he was grateful for your kindness. The Celebration of Jacks life will be held on: Saturday, August 10th at 2:00 pm at the Ladner Legion (upstairs) 4896 Delta Street, Delta, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Irene Thomas Hospice in Ladner would be greatly appreciated.
