Evelyn "Nina" L. Marquez, 75, a lifelong resident of Deming passed away Thursday November 22, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family.
Mass of the Resurrection will be this Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at St. Ann Catholic Church with Fr. Enrique Lopez Escalera, Pastor, officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
Evelyn was born September 12, 1937 in Deming to Julian and Eunice (Chavez) Lopez. Over the years she had worked at Deming Electronics and Mimbres Memorial Hospital but her most satisfying moments were that of being a homemaker. She loved to bake, crochet, and enjoyed gardening and working around her home. Evelyn was a lifelong member of St. Ann Catholic Church.
She is survived by her children, Rudy L. Marquez of Tucson, AZ, Richard Marquez of Casa Grande, AZ, Raymond E. Marquez and Gilbert R. Marquez of Deming; Mary H. Maynes and Teresa Marquez Holguin of Deming, Gloria Marquez of Las Cruces; 3 brothers, Danny Lopez of Las Cruces, Oscar Lopez of Silver City, and Ernesto Lopez of Deming; 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Abran Marquez, son, Jose Abran Marquez Jr., and 3 sisters, Lucille Lopez, Amalia Jackson and Margarita Louise Aguilera.
Pallbearers will be Orlando Marquez, Rudy Maynes Jr., Daniel Maynes, Michael Marquez, Ruben Salaiz, and Gabriel Marquez.
