Raymond E. Barthelmy died Monday, December 10, 2012.
He was 96, being born on June 22, 1916 to Edward and Esther Sidley Barthelmy in Youngstown, Ohio. He was a member of the U.S. Army since 1941 transferring in the Air Corp eventually as a Captain. He was lead navigator before being shot down and imprisoned by the Germans in 1944. Barthelmy was liberated by the Russians after serving a year in Stalag Luft One. There will be no calling hours; cremation has taken place.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of 65 years and 3 days and his son, Scott of Maryland.
