George Gollihar

George Gollihar, 87, a long time Deming resident, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 at his home.
Cremation has been entrusted to care of Baca's Mimbres Crematory and a memorial service has been scheduled for 2 p.m., on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the First Christian Church, with Pastor Darrell Witmer officiating.
George was born on December 10, 1925 in Hereford, Texas to Avie Denny and George C. Gollihar. He enlisted in the Army and served during World War II.
He was honorably discharged and worked as a welder, salesman of trailers and also serviced radiators in his shop off of Spruce St. He later became a farmer who focused on growing pecans.
He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie and Geneva; one brother Jerry Gollihar; and two sisters, Gloria Bayne and Kathy Struck; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Mark Gollihar and three sisters Maxine Crump, Florence Holt & Connie Strom.
