Kathleen C. Friedman, 75, Deming resident passed away at her home on Monday, December 2, 2013. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Baca's Mimbres Crematory and a fellowship gathering with refreshments has been scheduled to take place from 6 – 8 p.m., on Friday, December 6, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church. Kathleen was born on June 5, 1938 in Queens, New York to Pauline Kurtz and John Post. She met her life partner, Bennie K. Friedman and they were married on October 21, 1967 in Jackson Heights, New York. Kathleen and Bennie enjoyed spending their time together traveling and meeting new people. Here in Deming they were the driving force behind weekly dinners with friends at different restaurants where they shared stories and camaraderie. Kathleen was recognized as McGruff the Crime Dog handler and a member of Crime Stoppers. She will be dearly missed. Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of the home; a sister, Adrienne Amato of New York; and a niece and nephew, Susan and Douglas.
