Lorenzo S. Gonzales Sr., 67, a Deming resident, passed away Friday April 12, 2013 at Kindred Hospital in El Paso, Texas.
Visitation will begin today, Wednesday afternoon, at 3 o'clock at Baca's Funeral Chapel with the prayer vigil to follow at 6 o'clock. Mass of the Resurrection will be Thursday morning at 10 at St. Ann Catholic Church, with Fr. Enrique Lopez Escalera officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery with Military Honors accorded.
He was born July 3, 1945 in Vanadium to Tomasa Saiz and Miguel Gonzales. Lorenzo was a veteran of the United States Army
during the Vietnam War
. He worked in construction and had been a Deming resident for 8 years coming from Tucson, AZ. He was a member of St. Ann Church.
Survivors include his son, Lorenzo Gonzales Jr. of Deming; 2 daughters, Kathy Tarango, Anna Mesa both of Lordsburg; Mother of his children, Constencia Gonzales; brother, Rudy Gonzales of Silver City; 3 sisters, Stella Madrid of Tucson, Carmen Regalado, Joanna Grado both of Deming; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Tomasa Gonzales, brother, Roberto "Bachie" Gonzales and a sister, Terry Dominguez.
Pallbearers will be Michael and Lonnie Gonzales, Adam Dominguez, Daniel Gonzales and Robert and Johnny Regalado.
