Lorenza Jimenez "Lora" Silva

1925 - 2013

Lorenza Jimenez "Lora" Silva, 87, ascended into Heaven to be with the Lord on April 8, 2013.
She was born September 26, 1925 and was a resident of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Deming, NM.
After a long battle with cancer, she passed away peacefully at the Odyssey Hospice Home where she was given great care and attention. She was a loving woman of faith who surrendered life to God's will with grace and dignity.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, aunt and sister who enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was very creative and pursued many projects and hobbies.
"Lora" enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with many of her friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Esther Hernandez; grandchildren, Kristina Tucker and husband, Brian, and Brandon Ramirez and Alexandria Hernandez, her great-grandchildren, Crystal and Andrew Tucker; a brother, Jesus Jimenez (Bertha), of Las Cruces, NM; two sisters, Nellie Young (Grant) of Keller, Texas; and Margaret Alvarez (Alfredo), of Deming; and several nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joe Silva; parents, Jesus and Delfina Jimenez; two brothers, Paul and Raul Jimenez; and two sisters, Sally Shannon and Anita Alvarez.

A memorial mass is planned for 10 a.m., June 21, 2013, at St. Ann Catholic Church, with Fr. Enrique Escalera-Lopez officiating.
As per her request, cremation has taken place and she is entrusted to the care of Angel Valley Funeral Home, Tucson, AZ.
