Dr. Pierre Y. Brunet passed away peacefully at his residence in Deming, New Mexico on November 9, 2013. He was born on January 26, 1937 in Montreal, Canada to Leopold and Claire Brunet. After completing his degree in Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Brunet began his career in the United States. He worked for the State of Maine, Central Soya, CEVA, Penn State and the University of Maryland before retiring in New Mexico. Retirement agreed with him. He cherished the views he had of the New Mexico Mountains and enjoyed the warmth and sunshine Deming offered. He was always quick with a joke and sharp shooter to the end. His survivors include daughters, Karin Brunet Slusser, Fort Wayne, IN and Denise Allyson Wilson, Springfield, VA, and sons, Eric Peter Brunet, Florence, MT and Daniel Anthony Coyne, Auburn, ME. He was a grandfather to five beautiful granddaughters, Madeline, Allyson and Anna Slusser along with Kathryn and Elizabeth Wilson. He leaves three sisters behind in Canada, Lise Brunet, Michelle Parent and Andree Brunet along with nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States. The family also extends a huge thank you to his special caregiver, Isabel. Per his request cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.
