Luis F. Milo, 80, a longtime Deming resident, passed away October 1, 2012 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces.

A public viewing has been scheduled from 3-5 p.m., on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Baca's Funeral Chapel, with a prayer vigil and rosary to follow at 6 p.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church. A Mass of the Resurrection is set to begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2012, also at St. Ann's Catholic Church, with Fr. Enrique López-Escalera officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery with military honors accorded.
Luis was born to Maria Falcon and Gonzalo Milo on July 26, 1932 in El Paso, Texas. He was born with an easy smile and a light character that allowed him to have many friends throughout his life. Luis found success as a Chief Engineer for the New Mexico State Highway Department and eventually retired from there.
He met the love of his life Mary Arrey and married her in 1955. From the marriage, five beautiful girls were brought to this world to complete his family.
In his retirement, he spent his time in the yard gardening and dedicated himself to spending time with his family and friends.
Luis will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Luis is survived by his loving wife Mary, of the home; four daughters, Nancy Marquez of Tucson, AZ, Norma (Frankie) Tarazon of Deming, Nina Holguin (Victor) of Deming and Brenda Milo (Michael Moran) of Deming; four brothers, Manuel (Elena) Milo of Deming, Henry (Rosa) Milo of Deming, Gonzalo Milo of Deming and Joe 'Butter' (Tina) of Deming; five sisters, Helen Delgado of Deming, Irene (Valentin) Bustamante of Deming, Angelica Garcia of Temple, TX, Rosa Torres of Compton, CA and Cecelia (Tony) Pedraza of Deming; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Donna Wainman; a granddaughter, Andrea Baca and two brothers, Jesus and Robert Milo.
Serving as a pall bearers will be Michael Moran, Frankie Tarazon, Anthony Talavera, Victor Holguin, Adam Grado and Joey Gonzales. Honorary bearers are Michael J. Moran, Louie Wainman, Melanie & Yvette Tarazon, Brianna & Sarah Holguin and Jessica Morales.
