Richard R. Sainz, 87, owner of Richard's Towing, Inc. in Deming since 1978, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on Sunday evening, January 27, 2013.
Visitation will begin at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon, February 1, 2013 at Baca's Funeral Chapels, followed by the rosary service at 6 o'clock. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Ann's Catholic Church on Saturday, February 2, at 10 o'clock. Fr. Enrique Lopez-Escalera, Pastor, will officiate. Concluding services with veteran honors accorded and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
He was born December 2, 1925 to Julio and Anita Rodriguez Sainz in Deming.
Richard attended Deming Public Schools and served in the U. S. Army during World War II where he was awarded a bronze star and later served in the New Mexico National Guard during the Korean War.
Upon returning home, he was a local businessman in auto services and owned and operated the White House Cafe and Lounge, with his final venture being Richard's Towing Service and Garage.
He was a parishioner at St. Ann's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sharon Sainz; daughters, Olivia Carter and Prestine Parten; sons, Richard B., Edward, Robert and Patrick Sainz and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lawrence Parten, Rod Pratz, Felipe Figueroa, Charlie and Riley Parnell and Jeff Cooper.
Richard will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
