Robert (Bob) Jon Sweidal passed away at Mimbres Memorial Hospital in Deming, New Mexico on 18 November 2012. Bob was born in Chicago, Illinois on 24 January 1932 to Christian and Francis (Peterson) Sweidal. Bob graduated from Chicago schools and served in the Army from November of 1952 to November 1954. Bob married Constance Barton on 14 February 1970. Following their marriage, Bob was employed by Air Lift International in Florida. Later in year he also worked for Loomis Armed Car Service in Nevada. They moved to Deming in 1997 where Bob was employed by the Deming School District. Bob attended First United Methodist Church in Deming. Bob will be remembered for his love of animals and his gentle personality. He was always ready to feed and take in a stray. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Constance and his mother and father. Survivors include his sister Jane and husband Jim Flottman of Orlando, Florida, his nephew Jim Flottman and family of Denver, Colorado, and stepdaughter Dianne and husband Lee Maxwell of Port Orchard, Washington. A special thank you to the loving staff at the Sunshine Haven Convalescent Home in Lordsburg, New Mexico where Bob resided since November of 2010. Memorials in Bob's name can be made to the Deming-Luna County Humane Society. At Bob's request no service will be held.
