Sallie Raye Eastman Sapien, 75, passed away peacefully in her home on February 26, 2013 in El Paso, Texas.

Graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at Mountain View Cemetery in Deming, New Mexico. Rev Patrick Six of Scottsdale Baptist Church in El Paso will officiate.
Sallie was born on November 7, 1937 in Midland, Texas to Lester Ray and Sallie Ruth Robertson of El Paso.
Sallie is survived by her husband Raul Sapien of Deming, New Mexico; her son Alan Eastman and his wife Shirley Eastman of Sunol, California; her sister Roberta Janeice Tucker of Brownwood, Texas; and her special little dog Apache.
Sallie was preceeded in death by her first husband Walt Eastman and her son Dale Eastman.
Sallie also leaves 5 grandchildren including Clint Eastman, Brett Eastman, Preston Eastman, Kristy Eastman and Matthew Eastman.
Sallie graduated from Austin High School and eloped with her first husband Walt of 50 years on November 21, 1955. After Walt's death Sallie re-married to Raul Sapien of Deming.
She graduated with an Education Degree from the University of Texas at El Paso and became a well known and respected elementary school teacher in El Paso.
Sallie was a believer in Christ and was always active in the Baptist Church throughout her life. She was a dedicated mother and loved animals, music, and family.
Sallie dedicated much of her time in her later years caring for her mother, Sallie, enjoying some travel and spending time with her husband Raul in Ruidoso and on the golf course.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be sent to the Ruidoso Animal Shelter.
